Snow Angel Foundation and AirFlare Announce Strategic Partnership to Advance Slope Safety
A shared commitment to collision prevention, mountain safety, and education for all skiers and riders
THERMOPOLIS, WY [December 9, 2025] – The Snow Angel Foundation today announced a new strategic partnership with AirFlare, a mobile safety app and search technology platform used by ski patrol teams and outdoor adventurers across North America. This alliance strengthens both organizations’ shared mission to promote safer skiing and snowboarding through education, awareness, and easy-to-use technology.
Beginning this winter, AirFlare will support the Snow Angel Foundation’s collision-prevention and safety-training initiatives by providing complimentary annual app subscriptions to Snow Angel staff, volunteers, partners, and to employees at ski areas where Snow Angel delivers training. AirFlare will also elevate Snow Angel messaging across its network of ski area clients and participate in on-mountain safety events to help guests “Ride Another Day.”
Founded by Chauncy and Kelli Johnson in honor of their daughter Elise, who died in a tragic Christmas Eve collision in 2010, the Snow Angel Foundation has become a national voice for ski and snowboard collision awareness. The Foundation’s programs—including the widely recognized “Ride Another Day” campaign developed in partnership with the National Ski Areas Association—aim to reduce injuries and fatalities by promoting responsibility, awareness, and shared-space etiquette on the mountain.
“Snow Angel Foundation has changed the conversation around collision awareness,” said Denis Lee, CEO and co-founder of AirFlare. “Their work is deeply personal and universally important. AirFlare is honored to support their mission by equipping ski area staff and mountain communities with tools that help keep guests safe and empower faster, more informed responses when help is needed.”
As part of the partnership, AirFlare will provide lifetime app access for Snow Angel partners and eligible ski area employees, along with outreach support at ski industry events and opportunities to jointly promote mountain safety campaigns. In recognition of this expanded collaboration, Snow Angel Foundation has welcomed AirFlare as a sponsor for the 2025–26 season.
“For years, our mission has been to prevent collisions and raise safety awareness so every child, parent, and rider can return home safely,” said Chauncy Johnson, founder and executive director of the Snow Angel Foundation. “AirFlare’s commitment to this partnership goes far beyond a sponsorship. Their support helps us reach more resorts, more staff, and more families with a message that saves lives.”
With ski areas across the country preparing for the winter season, both organizations see this partnership as an opportunity to deepen the culture of safety on the mountain—from how guests merge at trail intersections, to how teams respond when someone needs help, to how communities reinforce the shared values of courtesy, respect, and awareness.
