Snow Angel Foundation and Bern Helmets Announce Strategic Partnership to Advance On-Snow Safety
Industry collaboration aligns safety education and equipment innovation to support safer slopes
THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. / DUXBURY, Mass. — January 29, 2026 — The Snow Angel Foundation (SAF) announced a new partnership with Bern Helmets, bringing together a nationally recognized on-snow safety organization and a leading helmet and goggle manufacturer to support safer skiing and snowboarding during the 2026–27 winter season.
The partnership combines Snow Angel Foundation’s education-first approach to collision prevention with Bern’s focus on innovation in protection, comfort, and style. Together, the organizations will collaborate on guest-facing safety messaging, custom-branded equipment, and resort-aligned initiatives that reinforce shared responsibility on the mountain.
“Our partnership with Bern Helmets represents exactly what the Snow Angel Foundation was created to do—bring people together to make skiing and riding safer for everyone,” said Chauncy Johnson, Snow Angel Foundation founder. “It’s a true win-win for Snow Angel Foundation, for Bern, and for the ski industry as a whole as we work collaboratively toward safer slopes. I never could have imagined that so much good—and so much meaningful safety collaboration from industry leaders like Bern—would grow out of the devastating loss of my daughter, Elise. Honoring her life through partnerships like this that increase safety and awareness for all of our fellow skiers and riders reminds me every day why this work matters.”

Under the agreement, Bern will support Snow Angel Foundation programming through integrated retail and rental initiatives, custom Snow Angel Foundation-branded helmets and goggles, and coordinated promotional efforts. Snow Angel Foundation will promote the partnership through on-mountain safety events, digital platforms, and industry outreach.
“The Snow Angel Foundation mission is a game-changer for making skiing and snowboarding safer,” said Dennis Leedom, founder of Bern Helmets. “Chauncy Johnson, John Siewierski, and the SAF team bring deep industry experience and an authentic purpose rooted in making good come from tragedy. That passion inspired Bern to step up and support this cause. The timing couldn’t be better as we introduce new innovations that add value in protection, comfort, and style. This partnership is a win for the industry, a win for resorts, and a meaningful way to honor Elise’s legacy.”
The partnership will roll out throughout the 2026–27 winter season with visibility at select resort activations and industry events.
