Snow Angel Foundation Announces Three New Strategic Partnerships to Advance On-Mountain Safety Culture
Precision Approach, Colorado Ski Furniture, and zPatrol join growing network of partners committed to education, awareness, and community
CARLSBAD, Calif. — May 4, 2026 — The Snow Angel Foundation (SAF) today announced three new strategic partnerships with Precision Approach, Colorado Ski Furniture, and zPatrol—further expanding the Foundation’s mission to promote a culture of safety across the snow sports industry.
The partnerships reflect a shared commitment to reducing collisions and serious injuries through a combination of education, awareness, innovation, and community engagement. Each partner brings a unique perspective to the effort—from real-time rider awareness technology and operational safety tools to storytelling, guest experience, and community connection.
“This is how change happens—when the industry comes together around a shared purpose,” said SAF Founder Chauncy Johnson. “Safety isn’t just a message, it’s a mindset. By working with partners who bring different tools and perspectives, we can reach more people, create more awareness, and ultimately help prevent life-changing accidents on the mountain.”
The announcement comes as Johnson meets with ski area operators and industry leaders this week at the NSAA National Convention in Carlsbad. During the convention, Snow Angel Foundation is engaging with resorts on expanded safety initiatives, including staff training, guest education programs, and on-mountain events—particularly leading into January’s National Ski Area Safety Awareness Month.
Through personal appearances and story sharing, co-founders Chauncy and Kelli Johnson continue to connect directly with ski area teams and guests, reinforcing the Foundation’s message of personal responsibility through its Triangle of Safety principles: self, space, and speed.
Each of the new partners contributes to that mission in distinct ways:
Precision Approach brings advanced AIR INTELLIGENCE™ LiDAR-based sensing technology that provides terrain park riders with real-time speed and landing zone awareness—helping inform decisions before takeoff and reduce risk in terrain parks.
zPatrol enhances on-mountain operations through digital incident documentation and real-time visibility tools that allow ski patrol teams to focus on care while improving overall risk management.
Colorado Ski Furniture strengthens community engagement and storytelling through its handcrafted products and philanthropic support, helping bring safety awareness into guest spaces both on and off the mountain.
“We heard about the Johnson family and their story, and it just makes you want to be a better person,” said Chris Pedrotti, Founder & CEO of Precision Approach. “When individuals are provided meaningful information, they can make better decisions—and that’s what safety is all about.”
“At zPatrol, we’re focused on making it easier for ski patrol teams to do their jobs when every second counts,” said CEO Cyrus Hurley. “Partnering with Snow Angel Foundation connects that real-time capability with a powerful message about awareness and responsibility across the mountain.”
“Skiing is an incredible experience, but it comes with real responsibility,” said Adam Vernon, Founder & Managing Director of Colorado Ski Furniture. “We’re proud to support Snow Angel Foundation and help spread the message—be aware, make good decisions, and take care of each other out there.”
As Snow Angel Foundation continues to expand its reach, these partnerships represent a growing movement across the industry—one focused not only on preventing incidents, but on building a stronger, more connected culture of safety.
Precision Approach, Colorado Ski Furniture, and zPatrol join Mountain Guard, Bern Helmets, Inter-Mtn. Enterprises, and AirFlare as proud Snow Angel Foundation partners and supporters.
